This weekend, our Executive Board traveled to Atlanta, Georgia, for the Carlson Leadership Academy, where we learned how to Raise Your Bar.
CLA is meant to give new officers a boost in personal leadership development. It focuses on teaching the skills to help them inspire brothers, manage a committee, and follow through on those goals. Officers build a supportive cohort of brothers in their roles to network with throughout the year.
Brother Evan Gates attended CLA as a rising leader. This is meant for brothers aspiring for elected chapter positions and/or strong, foundational leadership skills for any role, inside or outside of SigEp, to spend the weekend dedicated to their growth and potential. Brothers will leave the weekend with a strong sense of individual “why,” identify areas of opportunity for leadership growth, understand various tools to be a successful leader, and have an action plan to set themselves on the path to success in SigEp and beyond.
The conference ended in a pleasant surprise as, at the CLA Closing Banquet, KY Eta was announced as the winners of the Donald C. McCleary Member Development Award. The award recognizes chapters that are exercising a commitment to continuous development and provide unique and individualized opportunities focused on the five core areas of development programming: SigEp, Intellectual, Physical Health & Wellness, Leadership, and Professional Development. We are honored to be given this award.
The Executive Board is excited to come back to NKU with a slew of new ideas and plans for our chapter! Raise Your Bar!
